No the hose is not buried. The laterals are buried which are connected to the center pipe which has the hose water running into it through the inlet pipe. And water is pushed deep in to the sand.

    Deep Clean Sand Filter alternative

Yes I have done the deep clean as the article suggests a few years back. My thinking was: A deep clean is Submersing a hose down into the sand with running water which loosens the debris in the sand and gradually debris makes it way to the top and pours out. I figured water running in the...

    Deep Clean Sand Filter alternative

Here is the deep clean I am referring to - deep-cleaning-a-sand-filter, maybe some who's familiar with it can help. If you are not familiar with the procedure basically a backwash leaves a lot to be desired. I've personally done this after already having performed a backwash and it remarkable...

    Deep Clean Sand Filter alternative

2 reasons. 1. A deep clean as a preventative measure after opening my pool and sucking up the winter debris. 2. If this is effective I could effectively backwash without losing so much water.

    Deep Clean Sand Filter alternative

If I wanted to deep clean my filter and I left the multiport head on. Turned it to backwash had a hose running into upturned hose in the intake would this be doing the same kind of thing. See the Diagram That should be doing the same things. The location of the sand filter is not somewhere I...

Canadians: where do you buy your taylor reagents?

In the states. Otherwise Amazon.ca carries them for a very high cost. Last year I bought the 2006 kit, this year and from now on I'll just buy refill chlorine test and CYA reagents. Use more available and cheaper test for the rest. I feel your pain. :(

Getting reagents is possible, I'm just not willing to spend the amount they charge in Canada. If it comes down to it I'll just have to wait 3 weeks until family members come back from there trip with them. On a side note, I'm under the impression most other of the pH test are accurate. Is...

Cloudy water, no longer seeing improvements

FC 13, CYA 50-60, pH 7.4, TA 90 So bumped FC to 24 and scrubbed the whole pool. Bad news is I'm out of reagents. I'm not sure where to go from here. Unless I'm told otherwise I think I'll add 3ppm each night. And looks like more sand, my guess is the backwash and rinse is moving the...

Thanks funandsun, I have been doing that. I think I'm going to start taking pictures of my brush at the bottom of the pool better point of reference. Blue head with white bristles. best of luck. :) - - - Updated - - - In Canada the do not carry them :(. at least for a reasonable price. $180...

Cloudy water, no longer seeing improvements

Thanks for the fast reply, The Chlorine loss in the daytime is not very much over a day&night I might lose < 4ppm. And I doubt I have enough reagent for continued testing for 3 weeks. It is definitely sand, picked it up this morning and it was solid and gritty some brown other almost clear...
