    Phosphates, Hardness & Stain

I first slammed towards the end of last fall and the correlation between CYA and sanitizer has changed everything for me. Keeping my pool clean and pretty is no longer a chore, but a fun hobby thanks to you all!!! Today my water is pretty nice, but a little off from perfect so I took a sample...

    3 weeks after SLAM completion...

If I'm being lazy and should do research let me know, but I can add DE to a sand filter?

    3 weeks after SLAM completion...

Thanks. I don't have any reason to suspect it's not operating properly. After all, I did my first SLAM about 3-4 weeks back and had great results and I'm guessing a fully functional filter is a prerequisite. What is "DE?"

    3 weeks after SLAM completion...

Very helpful @jseyfert3 . Considering my current situation and desires, should I just ensure I maintain the proper range (6-8 ppm) and allow it to slowly get better. Or, should I just elevate back up to SLAM level for a quicker result? - And, will that first option even get me back to that...

    3 weeks after SLAM completion...

Directly after completing my SLAM treatment, due to a bad algae outbreak, the results were astonishing. Definitely the clearest water my pool has ever had in my 3 years of ownership, and maybe the clearest water I'd ever seen in any pool. 3 weeks later, I find myself noticing a degradation in...

What’s the best way to lower alkalinity without lowering pH?

We have a solar cover, I'm guessing that will minimize this opportunity to have a natural rise in the pH?

What’s the best way to lower alkalinity without lowering pH?

@mknauss @Sotex @Leebo Now my pH is 7.0 and my Alk is 90. Pool looks great, all other levels in range. Should I add soda ash? I’d hate for the Alk to rise anymore. Looking for suggestions.

What’s the best way to lower alkalinity without lowering pH?

Since slamming, I have the clearest water EVER and I want it to stay that way. So...I wanted to get my levels in ideal range according the Trouble Free Pool Math App. Currently, my pH is 7.4, and my Alk is 90. According to the app, ideal is pH 7.6 and Alk 70

    Am I done slamming?

It's been 4 days since I started my SLAM, wow, what a transformation. I want to make sure I'm done and I'm not jumping the gun. Throughout the summer, my wife and I often rate the pool's clarity and to pass the SLAM test, it says the water has to be clear. I would give my pool an A or A-...

Fighting Algae w/ SLAM methodology questions

I'm just so over my algae issue and willing to do almost anything at the moment. Gotta stay committed. I'm done wasting money

Will do. But nothing to be alarmed about? Or does this sound abnormal?

Fighting Algae w/ SLAM methodology questions

@mknauss @JJ_Tex It's been about 14 hours since I started SLAM. All stats were inline before I got started, I brushed, vacuumed and backwashed. Should I be alarmed that the only chlorine loss I've had over that time is 26 down to 24.4? I know the ultimate goal is to have little to no...

Fighting Algae w/ SLAM methodology questions

Thanks @mknauss . I did re-order today, then I rechecked the shipping date cause I neglected to look before I purchased. Looks like I'll need to make a run to my local pool store tomorrow to stock up. Can't wait till Aug. 28th.
