Dolphin s300i issue - shuts off

In case anyone else has this same problem in the future, here was our fix: I opened the robot to find that a little plastic piece had fallen off (circled in red in 1st picture). Once I pressed it back on where it is supposed to go (I didn't see a way to screw it on...just a little plastic tab...

Dolphin s300i issue - shuts off

We've had our Dolphin s300i for a little over 3 years (this is its 4th summer), and a few weeks ago it began having issues. It would start moving when we turned it on, would go forward and back a few times, then stop. Tried some troubleshooting suggestions from Maytronics, which didn't fix it...

Prefer not to winterize, but can't keep up w the evaporation..am I missing something?

I can't say I'm 100% sure it is just evaporation, but we've always had to add a fair amount of water in the summer and winter (pool gets direct sunlight all day), and they pressure-tested for leaks when it was installed I believe. Someone did try to explain to me the scientific reasons that...

Prefer not to winterize, but can't keep up w the evaporation..am I missing something?

We're on our 3rd winter with the pool. 1st winter was mild temps and had no issues keeping the pool/spa open. 2nd winter we had 9 days of below-freezing temps and our chlorinator froze and burst around day 3 so we had to do a last-minute winterization since there wasn't a bypass valve. Now...

    Pool management in freezing temps

Sure. I've been told it was plumbed in an unnecessarily complex way. Knowing what I know now, I would definitely have them do a few things differently.

    Pool management in freezing temps

Fortunately we were able to get someone out here this morning to winterize so I didn't have to wing it on my own. We've never winterized because we use the spa some during the winter, but going forward it looks like we'll have to. Thanks everyone for your input and advice!

    Pool management in freezing temps

Woke up to the pumps still running but will be cutting power today and trying to drain. Not even sure I'll be able to get the drain plug off our filter at this point.

    Pool management in freezing temps

Well I was finally able to thaw out the outdoor hose bib so I could fill the pool, pumps have been running ok in freeze protection mode, but I just went out and saw the chlorinator had exploded within the last hour or so. No chlorine tabs in it but I thought water should have been running...

    Pool management in freezing temps

Well, the other spigot is frozen now too so doesn't look like I'll be able to add water unless I carry it out in a big bucket with multiple trips...

    Pool management in freezing temps

I didn't realize we could have evaporation in winter but your explanation makes sense...I'll be happy if that's what it is! I will try to add water to the pool. One of our spigots was frozen a few days ago, so hoping the other still works. Really ready for this cold weather to move on...

    Pool management in freezing temps

We've had several days without the air temp getting above freezing, and we have a few more to come it seems. Our pumps have been running round the clock in freeze protect mode, and after noticing a layer of ice in the pool yesterday and the water level getting low, I'm wondering if there are...

Clear pool, mustard algae, need to SLAM?

Haven't actually raised the chlorine to mustard shock level yet to try to get rid of it. The kids are in there every day so I just haven't found a good time, but will probably do it after school starts back in a few weeks. Also the way our pool was plumbed, the bypass valve handle can't turn a...
