    We are now thinking that there is too much air between the water and the pump or maybe a pinhole leak in the whole thing. What do you mean "pressure side?"

    We haven't tried to hook up the vacuum, yet, we closed the valve on that side and just hooked up the other side to pump water from the pool into the filter. No suction. The vacuum works with the current setup, but we have to disconnect the hose and hook up the vacuum hose--a pain. That's why...

    This is what is working now, but we want to switch to the double PVC setup. seen above. The black hoses are temporary. We plan to move the filter and pump into the corner of the deck and build a structure over it.

    Help! Connection fail

    Greetings friends. We have a pond with a liner, 2 hp pump and 24" sand filter. All works fine until we tried to connect this pvc setup with 2 valves so we could switch from pumping water to vacuuming without disconnecting hose. we get no suction.

    I'm looking for a vacuum hose at least 30' long that won't kink when used with 2hp pump. Moved from here.
