    The pH being high will cause eye and skin irritation. Our eyes and skin membranes are between 7.3 and 7.5 Combined chlorine could have been the cause as well. As cowboycasey said, you might consider finishing the slam to lower that combined chlorine, your fc will drop a couple days after that.

    To measure your gallons you do Length x width x average depth x 7.48 As far as the hot tub goes it really depends on your pH levels and if they normally run high or low. If they run highnormally, having the overflow could raise it even higher, if its normally low, the overflow may help raise...

    Even with small pools in Florida with no backwashing, a lot of evaporation, and where balancing was avoided? There has to be a point where solids will no longer dissolve and chemicals will be ineffective or at least inefficient, no? I know it is the 12.1 constant in the Saturation Index...

    It is used for acid washing, etching concrete. They will know it by Muriatic Acid though.

    Your pH tends to climb a little Just have to check it like any other pool. There is also a section dedicated to SWG that you'll find helpful. Hayward, PoolPilot are 2 good manufacturers for Salt water generators. You're on the right site. Best of luck
