Feeding Stenner pump straight from MA jug

I maintain the Stenner injection pumps at our neighborhood pool club for both liquid chlorine and MA injection. I think you've got a great idea to minimize acid handling and fuming. I use a hose vented acid tank, with the vent hose line running a short distance away from the equipment, which is...

Upgrading AGP to SWG, new pump and PVC lines - ???

Last year on our 12x24 Intex(8600 gallons) I tried a 3/4hp Pentair Dynamo 2 speed motor along with an EC40 filter and the larger Intex SWG I had from the year before. I used a combo of 1.5" hard and flexible PVC, except for the SWG connections. The pump's electrical draw on low speed was 150...

2 pavers broke after pool is full

I have that same pool, first AND second time set-up failed on 15" square 2" pavers. I bought two 4'x8' 3/4" thick sheets of pressure-treated, outdoor plywood and cut 18" squares out of that, using 2 under each leg. Also used a transit to countersink each and get every one within 1/4", wasn't...

    Sizing SWG for 60k gal

Sorry for late response...thanks for info. My IntelliFloXF only has freeze protection relay. Using onboard scheduler. Our Sta-Rite Max-E-Therm heater's flow sensor is pretty sensitive, it'll shut down quickly if the pump is running less than 1900rpm or so. I schedule the heater externally by...

    Sizing SWG for 60k gal

Hey dizydizy which pump did you get? I've manage a neighborhood 60k gallon pool. We're using a single 3HP Pentair IntellifloXF Variable Speed pump with great success, this is its 6th year running nearly constantly and fully exposed. We have 4 skimmers, 2 drains and 8 returns. The pool is...

Using extension cord for this year?

If you do not have an outside receptacle(which should already be GFCI protected), then yes, use the portable GFCI inside so that a break anywhere on the extension cord is protected. The gauge cord required depends on the amps drawn and the distance of the cord.

    Design/Plan/DIY Build NorCal pool

Manoweb, check with your local permitting authority on allowable liner colors. 2016(latest) California Building Code for swimming pools only allow white liners/pool shell color. "3108B.3(formerly 3106B.3) Pool Construction 3106B.3 Finish Color. The finish color shall be white, except for: (1)...

    Help in choosing new pump

For our 12'x24'x52" Intex, (8600g) I did a lot of research and decided on a 3/4hp Pentair Dynamo 2 speed. We have a SWG that needs to run for up to 8 hours. We also have a majestic old oak nearby so hoping to catch more leaf drop via the skimmer. We've been using a Hayward Micro StarClear rated...

Intex Ultra XTR 24x12 Temporary Install for Summer Months

Pierre, I have the pool you're looking at. We like it, It'll work great for what you want as long as you get the spot PERFECTLY level. We bought our current house 3 years ago, it had an older 10'x20' Intex, which failed due to soil settling. We put the 12'x24' pool up/down 3 times over a few...

Smaller spa = tougher sanitizer level maintenance?

Thanks, Jim. I think I'm just surprised by the much faster decay rate. Besides my wife and I, we have a 11 and 13 year old using it randomly, the FC hasn't been too predictable for me yet like I'm used to with pool measurements.

Smaller spa = tougher sanitizer level maintenance?

Hi all, This is my first real-world experience with spa ownership, a 3-person LifeSmart LS300 from Home Depot. In the first week, I've had a tough time maintaining the chlorine level without overshooting(or it decaying away) to the point that yesterday I purged it with Ahh-some, drained and...

Help! Honeybees around saltwater intex pool!

Our local veteran pest control guy has been seeing this issue with a few Salt Water pools in the Sierra foothills of California. His company's story is that the bees are attracted to the salt water and favor it over fresh water. No resolution as of yet.

Using extension cord for this year?

Hi all, First post here. Getting ready to replace a 10'x20' Intex that came with the house (and collapsed over the winter) with a new 12'x24'. Not only did the previous owner run a 100' of 16/2(with the grounding spade removed) to a Hayward pump/cartridge filter, they ran it under a sealed...
