Opening a bit late, 2024 edition!

Hi! Just checking in. I've neglected TFP since I closed the pool in the fall. We have had such miserable weather this month so I was not motivated to open early. Today the sun was shining. When I got home from work at 6pm I decided it was the perfect time to start the opening process. I got the...

Completed! First time closing solo- how's my plan?

Just donated to TFP, much cheaper than paying a pool company :) I wish I had done it during the summer campaign but I guess my pool situation was going so 'swimmingly' I hadn't even been on TFP to notice it. I sure would have liked that special badge.

I'm done (relatively speaking!) Huge thank you to this community, with past threads and support on this one! This morning I took out the equipment plugs (surprised to see how much water was in the filter), did the antifreeze thing, blew a little air in the lines one last time, had the dolphin...

Seems like I didn't do as bad as a thought! yay! I did loosen... I was able to eventually get them all to hold while undoing one at a time. I'll try to grab some replacements tomorrow though to be safe I was wearing that sludge. Yuck. Yes, it was the second hold and did not seem to go anywhere...

    1) I had a really hard time getting the black rubber plugs with white plastic spinners to stay plugged in. Eventually got them but I am worried now about what if I don't have them in good enough at the end of the closing and they pop off during the winter. Any advice? 2) I sort of forgot about...

Do I unscrew this white port for the suction side cleaner and then put the plug in, or leave it screwed in and plug it?

I am not 2 inches below yet but could be in a couple of hours (this drains slowly!). Im still waiting on the cyclone to arrive so I have some time. I do have a plaster pool with waterline tile. Should I to the 4 inches below for a safety measure? I know I don't want any tiles popping off in the...

Newdude, do you really drain to 3-4 inches below return? I am slowly draining my pool via the main drain and hose connected from my equipment. (next year I'll buy a pump after I've paid off my cyclone :ROFLMAO:) Im halfway below the returns and am tempted to stop once I get just below the...

I REALLY appreciate all of your help!!! My cyclone was supposed to be delivered last night but was delayed (should be in today). That's buying me some time to tighten up the process. I just raised the anchors for the pool cover to attach to, rinsed the screws, and added Jack's Formula...
