New Gunite Build - Cypress, TX - Done!

Calling this one done finally. The leak repair is barely noticeable, so we're pretty happy with the end result. We aren't too happy with the process towards the end as we've lost sleep, swim time, some landscaping, and a few thousand gallons of water along with the chemicals used to treat them...

New Gunite Build - Cypress, TX - Done!

Alright, they made a basketball sized hole in the wall of the spa, replaced about 8" of pipe, and sealed it back up. They're coming back tomorrow to finish it up and I'll be doing a bucket test probably Sunday/Monday to confirm this is fixed.

I have not been instructed to do that by the builder. Just dumping 200 gallons of water down the drain every day. We really need the time in the spa with this Crud going on anyways...

New Gunite Build - Cypress, TX - Done!

Another update. Leak is scheduled for repair next week. They're not sure how involved it will be until they start, but we're hoping it's repairable without chipping away plaster/concrete...

Quick update, not good news. There's a leak in the wall of the spa, they're still trying to figure out how to address it in the least invasive way possible. I'll update once we know more.

They're sending out a leak detection company, but the soonest they can make it here is 19 days from today. 😤

New Gunite Build - Cypress, TX - Done!

Two bucket tests down, one with equipment running and one without. The pool lost nearly an inch of water over the bucket with the equipment running. With the equipment off the spa dropped about 3" of water(which I'm assuming ended up in the pool?) and the pool dropped maybe 1/4". Hopefully more...

New Gunite Build - Cypress, TX - Done!

Water level has fallen nearly 2" after 40-ish hours. Something we've noticed more of now, though it was present before, there's a lot of air bubbles coming out of the returns. All the equipment looks dry, no water around the equipment pad. Really hoping they don't have to do any major digging...

Yes, I'm only turning it on when I need to run it, which I need to due to low rain and fresh sod. Although without the system running there shouldn't be much water standing in the sprinkler lines as it's only pressurized when the zone is turned on.

100% sure there's a leak now. I turned off the auto fill yesterday evening and woke up to a pool level nearly a full inch lower. At that rate I'm losing hundreds of gallons a day, no wonder I've been having a hard time getting the chemistry balanced... I'm going to leave the auto fill off a...

New Gunite Build - Cypress, TX - Done!

I just turned off the autofill and sprinklers and will keep pumping water out through the weekend to see if I can run it dry.

New Gunite Build - Cypress, TX - Done!

Update, after pumping water out for about 30 minutes, it's still pumping water out of this hole at a rate of 20 gallons per hour. We haven't received heavy rain recently, and I typically only run the sprinklers 3-4 minutes per zone. Starting to think there's a leak of some kind.

We do have an autofill. Using the pump has lowered the water level quite a bit so I'm imagining it could just be a very saturated ground around where they dug around the pool and it will eventually dry out. I'm concerned it could be the autofill, but I would imagine it would be filling up this...

New Gunite Build - Cypress, TX - Done!

Here's another interesting update I'm hoping to get some feedback on. We started digging around the deck to plant some bushes and struck a bit of water. I assumed it was a sprinkler leak at first, but have since been told no leaks could be found after they came out to inspect. That mostly...
