New house with Fiberglass Pool (16,700gals) 0 TA, well over 100+ CYA

Hello, We just bought a house with a nice fiberglass pool made by Barrier Reef. I just finished testing the water and have some pretty shocking numbers. PH is very low, but my TA is somehow showing as 0 or some number unreadable. I have the Taylor K-2006 test kit and some test strips...

Considering a SWG but want an alternative to using acid

No I haven't made the jump to brew my own, but that is mainly because I don't think the wife would allocate me the space or the kitchen to do it...laughs I do have friends that bottle their own and offered to brew me a corny if I bought one. Right now I'm running Yuengling Bock on tap!

Considering a SWG but want an alternative to using acid

I'm running a Kegerator  with a 5lbs CO2 canister, and I do leak tests so I have been fortunate enough to not have any problems so far. Of course it's only $7 to refill, so I'm not too worried about it if it did, but this would be much more expensive (probably $45~60) so extra care...

Considering a SWG but want an alternative to using acid

Really my consumption isn't that bad (~32oz a week) but it's just something I don't want to mess with, I'm trying to go as chemical free as possible. This would make it so I don't have to worry about the kids or pets getting into the stuff. This is the reason I said aside from cost what are...

Considering a SWG but want an alternative to using acid

Hello all! I am considering having a SWG put in my pool, however I don't really want to deal with adding acid that often if possible. So at the same time that I put in a SWG we are considering adding something called an ORGANIC PH unit http://www.poolsmith.com. It uses CO2 to keep the PH...

    Baltimore Pool House Build

One of our biggest fears is that a project like this would be cost prohibitive to undergo. We honestly won't know until we get estimates on the sewer line, but we are also still 12 days from closing so in some ways I'm getting ahead of myself...laughs If we are not able to at least get a half...

    Changing Room and Bathroom Shed

Thanks for the response! I also live in Southern Oklahoma (or will very soon), so should I do a Concrete Slab or is a wood sub floor sufficient? I know that when I get the permits pulled the minimum build specifications for my area will be told to me. I think the biggest challenge I will have...

    Baltimore Pool House Build

Nice work! That looks great, it is exactly what my wife and I are thinking of doing. Just wondering though how you are dealing with the Drain/Vent/Sewage line? What are you tying into? Also did are you using a "point of use" hot water tank or did you bring both lines all the way in from the...

    Changing Room and Bathroom Shed

Hello we are very excited to be closing on a house with a nice gunite pool. One of our concerns though is tracking in water all through the house because the bathrooms in the home are not easily accessible from the pool area. Pretty much we have to go through the kitchen (tile), down the hall...
