I opened my pool yesterday (18' x 36' concrete w/ liner). Everything looked fine. A few hours later, I noticed the water level had dropped significantly – about six inches. After adding what seems like a staggering amount of chlorine, I finally got there this evening. TC 5ppm. :p (Hope my cheapo test kits aren't lying to me and I wake up tomorrow to a bleached liner)

Jug #5 added after sunset. Still only seeing 1 - 2ppm. Nothing seems to be moving the needle. :(

Wow, I've added 3 gallons of liquid chlorine over the course of 4 hours and TC is only about 1ppm. Very sunny right now though. Is the algae winning?? :(

The 28ppm of CYA was measured by my pool store's test equipment. Not sure of the methodology, but they are a BioGuard dealer. Using a "HTH 6-Way Test Kit" until the TF one arrives.
