Firstly, all natural stone is porous. But around a pool that’s a good thing. You can put sealant on stone tiles, but it can make them slippery when they are wet— and since sealant makes the water bead up instead of being wicked into the pores of the stone, the tile will likely stay wet longer...

In the pool section, yes, sometimes it is the lower concentration-- ~14.5 Baume, I believe. Instead, take a walk over to the paint department... It's exactly the same as the pool acid, just labeled for a different purpose-- and it's the full 31 baume concentration, and almost certainly cheaper...

If you go onto the Pentair site and the Hayward site they have calculators that will help you see, based on usage and utility rates, how much the various pumps cost to run... And also how much you can save compared to another pump (your own, or another that you are considering.) Keep in mind...

Actually, I think even that one has the copper ionization feature, but if so-- no worries,:mrgreen: it's really easy to disconnect. Just unplug the connector from the top of the electrode. You can just let the "connector cap" hang there... The copper anode will still be there but it won't...

I think what was meant by the comment about "doing [CYA] in halves" was to adjust your chemistries by adding half of the calculated amount of the chemical, let it circulate and mix for at least 30 minutes (except for CYA--it has to dissolve and circulate over at least a few days) I guenerally...
