Results two years and two court dates later

Not sure that this makes you feel any better, but I did an owner build in 2015, and I noticed that my skimmer was not perfectly level after it was too late. As one does with an owner build where there is no one to blame but yourself, I decided to roll with it and see what happens. I have never...

    Travertine Pavers

I have rectangular travertine pavers and have had no issues. Almost one year since the install. Check out my build thread for the pics. I don't think you can go wrong with any pattern you choose.

Great choice on the plaster color, but I am a bit biased... It's going to turn out beautiful :)

Frank, Your project is turning out really nice. I can't believe that they didn't have any more beige drains to sell you! Makes me want to buy more just in case they stop making them....

Can you post some closer pics of the spa overflow? I have a large opening like yours, but without the lip coming over the opening. I'm considering adding a bit of travertine like you have to make a lip. Thanks!

I would go with the gold or blue tiles. The other one is too much of the same, just my 2 cents. My tiles and stacked stone contrast my coping tile, and I think it really pops nicely. When the sun is shining on the gold tiles, it really is pretty.

Definitely get the shells. You will not regret it. The shells reflect the sun in an amazing way, with different areas reflecting depending on what time of the day it is. If I had to do it over again I would get even more shells. If you have to choose between glass or shells, get the shells...

Interlocking concrete pavers: drains and base

I didn't use an expansion joint around the coping. I just like the look better without the thick joint. I know it is better practice to use the joint, but I figured that because I am using pavers, there are joints all over that i can play with if the need ever arises. I guess I will know in...

    How much should autofill cost?

I love having the autofill. My neighbor is constantly having to put a hose into his pool, which he forgets to turn off every once in a while. I do the same thing Jay does, simply turn off the valve if I am leaving for a few days. There is more of a chance of forgetting your hose on then the...
