Opened Pool to high pH and low TA

I believe the TA was 40 at that time and pH was darker than 8.2. The reagents were still within the expiration date and right under a year old. I believe my first acid demand test took 5 drops! The water heated up rapidly as we had several very hot days in my area. I read somewhere that can...

Opened Pool to high pH and low TA

I used the acid demand test as well as pool math to adjusted everything. Added dry acid and pH is now at 7.2 and TA is 50. Pool store says TA is fine but other sources say 80-100. Taylor K-2006 will arrive tomorrow. In the meantime I have cleared the green water and used a flocculant to vac...

Opened Pool to high pH and low TA

Moved from here. I'm having the exact same problem! Just opened pool and I have pH off the charts and very low TA. I ended up with an algae problem after I took the cover off because I had trouble getting the pump and hoses put back on and it took me time to get help. Got that going then...

    Pump humming on new outlet

Thank you so much for your reply. It was operating on the outlet as I did see water movement but I immediately unplugged so I don't damage my pump. We are going to try each of the things you suggested and I'll let you know what we find. My fiance isn't an electrician but he does wire up...

    Pump humming on new outlet

So we installed an outdoor outlet for our new pool. Its heavily insulated 12g wire on 20amp dedicated breaker with GFCI outlet run underground in conduit like it's all supposed to be. I have been temporarily using a nice 10gauge extension cord. When I plug the pump into the new outlet it makes...

CYA Powder blowing back into Pool

19" sand filter by blue torrent w/ 1hp pump. Came with the Heritage Yosemite pool package. I've checked the backwash outlet and it isn't leaking and no sand is blowing in the pool. The filter is functioning perfectly and water is crystal clear so I'm stumped!

CYA Powder blowing back into Pool

Moved from here I've poured CYA through the skimmer and literally watched the granules blow out the returns. It was only a small amount. Filter and pool is only 2 months old, it was set to FILTER not recirculate, and it is functioning perfectly. I read that it could be a crevasse in the...
