    Pool water collection device??

Made this a couple years ago, its an old broom handle and i took a free beer coozy from epoolsupply and zip tied that to the end. Its the perfect size for a sample squeeze bottle like this one. This way you can collect water from 18-24” down in the water column.

What Kind of Cream Colored PVC Is This?

In my area new pools always seem to be built using this cream colored 2” PVC. I want to use some but cannot seem to find it at any local distributor. Anyone know what this is or who makes it? Im thinking it might be CPVC?

Return Re-Plumb Plan - Peer Review

Main thing I'm hoping to understand is the fluid dynamics portion. Lets say I have 10 PSI at the heater outlet moving about 45 GPM. How do I know how much of that flow will enter the bypass loop and how much will stay in the main line? As long as its a couple GPM I think it would be sufficient...

Return Re-Plumb Plan - Peer Review

It's about 36" from the heater bulkhead to the first tee feeding the bypass loop.

Return Re-Plumb Plan - Peer Review

I'm looking to re-plumb the return side of my equipment pad. My goals are to a) add a manual drain valve for the rainy season since my ancient pool has no automatic overflow, and b) to add 2 injection points for an automated chlorine/acid dosing system. I didn't include a check valve because I'm...

    Taylor Reagent Expiration Dates

Just picked up a 2oz bottle of r-0871 fas-dpd re-agent and a 10 gram bottle of dpd powder r-0870. Both sold by a third party seller but stocked/shipped by amazon. Only problem is, they both have a 6/24 expiration date, which is only 8 months away and not the 12 months Taylor advertises. Did I...

Converting Venturi Spa Jets to Active Blower Fed System

Thank you, I had thought of something similar and tried a 3/4" threaded sprinkler riser, but those threads are a bit different. The nozzles are just slightly smaller and their thread is finer than the 3/4 MNPT riser's. Using a die is not a bad idea though to get the threads just right. It...

Converting Venturi Spa Jets to Active Blower Fed System

Hi Mark, yes I do, I actually created this diagram to help one of the supply houses track down the nozzles and wall attachments with dimensions. One of the nozzles pictured is in OK shape, but the other two were very brittle and I had to break them out to get them out of the wall so they are...

    Pool Leak?

I would ask the leak detectors for a complete accounting of what they tested and what might still be causing a leak. To completely test a pool would likely require diving to test light niches, possibly drain covers, etc. When I had a leak test done I was told the bucket is the most accurate...

Converting Venturi Spa Jets to Active Blower Fed System

I have a 40-50 year old pool and spa combo where the spa spills over into the pool. The 3 "jets" are actually connected to the return line from the filter pump (no dedicated jet pump) and they are venturi type jets. I have a 1.5" PVC air line running to an upside down P-shaped air intake near...
