I’ve tried them. If you have a brand you can recommend, I’ll look into it again. Last time I tried one, it severely restricted the water flow and triggered the safety switch on my pump. That was after only about an hour after putting it in.

We’re ready to go. Thanks to TFP, opened to another super low maintenance season. Cottonwood hasn’t dropped yet so I’ll be doing some extra filter cleaning and vacuuming for a while, but we’re ready to go. Ignore my grass. 😬

The cool water slows the growth of organic material like algae. I don’t think it changes the density enough to significantly affect the readings you get. I was just surprised I still had close to 8ppm. I closed the pool at the beginning of October with the water at 20ppm.

TA is high, 120. Not a 100% sure why. It was 100 when I closed it. Maybe the tap water I used to refill contributed to the raised level.

I wrapped my cover. My son helped me do it. It took just a couple minutes.

Ignore my ugly grass. Between the trenching for the electrical, leveling of the pool, and having a tree cut down, it needs a little therapy. This is what we’re working with so far:
