    Iron removal again.

Thanks, yes that would be the one.. I went back like 5 pages couldn't find it and gave up. But yes, I think my "Experiment" was/is a success! Nice to be able to fill the hot tub with fresh water and not recycled pool water, especially with the different amounts of salt they take! Just thought...

    Iron removal again.

So, I posted on this before but its been a while and I could not find the thread, anyhow.... I know there is mention of getting rid of iron in water to keep the tub clean and here is my method, easy, small expenditure, and always works! I started out by noticing my sand filter in my pool would...

So do you do anything to try to alter the soft water? I too have very soft water from my well and I don't seem to have any ill effects from it. I guess that would be different with a concrete or gunnite pool.

Just remember you will have a Chlorine hot tub if you do this, the SWG just turns the salt into chlorine.

    Salt generator for spa

I think I've had mine for 15 months now and it runs about 8 hrs a day, 2 sessions of 4 hours each, still going strong as far as I can tell. Not sure I'm allowed to do this here, but I'd be interested in your spare cell if you are wanting to part with it. PM me I guess.

    Opened Cover Got Rained On

A lot of times if my tub is getting a little low, and a big rain is coming I open mine on purpose to fill it a bit. My lid also has drain holes on the underside toward the middle and if it feels heavy I'll stand one up in the middle for a bit to let it drain. The baseball hat is a good idea, we...

    Salt generator for spa

I switched to the Saltron mini about a year ago and have had no issues at all, made it so much easier to take care of! My tub did come with the titanium heater so if there is a problem with a stainless one I have not had that issue.

    The experiment.

I'm sure they didn't make as much money as if they had built them one!

    The experiment.

Yes, my pool came with a SWG (Reasonably expensive option) and a year maybe 2 after getting this Hot Tub I splurged and got the mini. So pleased with the results. SWG in the pool died after about 5 years and the replacement was $900 and change... money well spent. I still use those 3" pucks...

    The experiment.

I guess you better pay up then! Years ago we looked into a site built hot tub and while they look good, they do not have all the goodies a stand-alone one does. And two bodies of water to take care of just doesn't bother me much, unlike what some people think, a pool or hot tub just is not that...
