Pool dust or algae settling in floors

I realized my chlorine was too low so I shocked it and all the algae on the floor cleared up as well as pool clarity significantly improving. I did the OCLT test this morning and lost about 1ppm but sun had already hit. So I plan to do it again tomorrow to make sure.

Pool dust or algae settling in floors

What does LAVA mean? To be in range all the time, seems like I’d need to add a gallon a day. Does that sound excessive? Are there cheaper ways to maintain the levels such as tablets?

Pool dust or algae settling in floors

Thanks problem solved. The clarity is a TON clearer and I don’t see much dust anymore. With my 18K gallon vinyl pool, how often should I expect to add chlorine? CYA is around 35 and I use liquid chlorine (10%). I typically add about half gallon a night. Seems like with half gallon I can get...

Pool dust or algae settling in floors

I have a Taylor test kit. My most recent readings were: Chlorine: 4 pH: 7.8 Alk - 90 CYA- 30 CH - 200 What can you tell from the readings that would constantly cause all this algae settling at the bottom of pool? I assume the algae is dead right? Or is it alive and that’s why it keeps...

Pool dust or algae settling in floors

I run my robot every day and often more than once a day. No matter how much I run it, there is always algae settling on the bottom floors of my pool. My pool readings are normal and water is pretty clear and I run a sand filter. Is there anything I can do to reduce the amount of algae / dust...

    Leaking somewhere

I cannot for the life of me figure out what is causing wet spots around my pool pump and filter. I don’t see any leaks or feel anything wet on the pump or filter. I have checked both drain plugs and the strainer cover/gasket on the pump. I’ve also checked all piping as well as the filter’s...

Return line keep making making sucking noise

What is facing out mean? Does that just mean face is straight on? Also, when facing to side, should it be towards the wall (which is a foot away) or away from wall?

Return line keep making making sucking noise

1 return so only this one is causing issue. It is not a rotating return. It does not look like any air is coming out. Just occasionally there’s a whirl pool. I pointed down thinking it would create better flow. What is the optimal position? I have a Hayward super pump 1.1 HP. Single...

Return line keep making making sucking noise

Return line creates a whirlpool and makes a sucking noise. Happens pretty often. The eyeball is pointed down towards the ground. What is causing this?

    Filter sand entering pool

Actually most of it is algae around the pool but some of it is actually sand. Theres enough sand to suggest there might be an issue. However, how much sand in the pool is okay? Is it okay to have some? How much sand in the pool does it become really an issue?
