O/B Pool in San Diego

I had to drain the auto-cover box, so the first pipe in the pics is drainage for patio and cover box. I had to go all the way around the house to get the drop to the street, and even then it's just barely enough! I'm going to carefully bury the pipe for half the run tonight assuming the cover guy has no issues when he looks at it today. The spa lines are ready, but I need to prep the equipment area dirt a bit more.
I was planning on putting most pool pipe connections in near the skimmer and cover corner, and then running them inside the pool area behind the steel. Does anyone see an issue with that? I don't really have room to keep connecting the main trench to the pool in several places.

any thoughts on negative edge spa? I'm putting in a cover-pools auto safety cover and we're talking about vanishing lid (24") that goes over the spill over wall and the front cover bar will hide under it.
Supposedly this would put my water at 3.5" down for pool and 3" down for spa. Meaning my negative edge spa will be just 1/2 inch higher than the pool, think that's an OK design?
thoughts, I can probably do a whole inch if I decide before shotcrete.

Hello bsjeep! We used to live in San Diego County...it is so beautiful there! I am happy you are able to put in a pool because it is the perfect place for one.
When I saw your post, I realized your pool is very similar in layout to ours.
We have a spa that is about a half an inch from the waterline, and the water flows over it beautifully. We love it! We don't have a pool cover, but if we did, it would work out beautifully. Here are some pictures of ours, that maybe will help you see how we had the spa done. Our waterline is at about 3" from coping. The spa is about 1/2 inch higher. It is subtle, but works and looks great. If you are within a half inch or so, the water will flow nicely(of course, depending on how many cannon balls are done throughout the day to take some water out! Ha!
I love your design and can't wait to see the finished product. Wish we could have done this when we lived in beautiful CA, but now we are trying to make TX have a taste of CA. Just bought some bouganvilla to add a little Southern CA to our atmosphere.

Been a while since I gave status, I've hired a GC type of guy as a consultant basically, he helped arrange some plumber help to finish up the DIY disaster. Well not really but the consultant is a perfectionist so a lot of stuff had to be modified. But I actually like the design and perfection, I just don't like the added cost that comes with it.

Crazy how fast the shotcrete makes it look like a "pool". They were able to knock that whole process out in about 5 hours based on your camera, looks great!
