Hi everyone,

My name is Dean. After several moves around the country, my family and I have settled in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and we decided to put in a brand new (albeit small) fibreglass pool in our backyard last year (wasn't completed until the Fall so, essentially, this is our first swimming season with the pool). So far so good, but I am admittedly brand new to - and totally unfamiliar with - pool ownership, hence my decision to join TFP.

In addition to introducing myself, I would like to send a huge THANK YOU to all of those at TFP who are responsible for uploading/contributing such great content. I have already read every single Pool School article word-for-word while taking detailed notes, and I have skimmed some of the forums to get a feel for the information that is now at my fingertips. Needless to say, it is quite impressive. So, again, thank you to everyone who created and maintains this fantastic website!

I must admit that I am still fairly overwhelmed with the steep learning curve ahead of me and the amount of knowledge that I must absorb, but I am equally reassured that this website will be incredibly helpful in my pool ownership journey. I also trust that I will grow increasingly more comfortable over time, and I hope that one day I will become sufficiently knowledgeable that I can return the favour by offering advice to others who find themselves in my current situation.

I do have a few burning questions that I will post separately in other forums but, for now, I just wanted to say "Hi" and "Thank you" to the TFP crew. I am looking forward to collaborating with everyone.

Kind regards,
Dean

Hey Dean and Welcome !!!!

Its trying to drink from a fire hose at first. Not gonna lie. :ROFLMAO:

But i promise you any last part is just a simple drop, once you aren't overwhelmed by the shear number of drops.

but I am equally reassured that this website will be incredibly helpful in my pool ownership journey
I also promise you, that we got you at every step. We have folks here to help around the clock, because they didnt forget what it was like and want to help it go better for others.

. I have already read every single Pool School article word-for-word while taking detailed notes
SWEET. Scroll down to the quick navigation section on any forum page and click the TFP Wiki. Read up in your free time, there will be a bunch of entries relevant to you. Its also in the left side menu bar thingie.

@PoolStored @Newdude - Thank you both for the warm welcome! I am looking forward to getting started. I've got the Taylor K-2006 already as it was a recommended purchase from my pool builder, but I'll check out the import process for the TF kits next season when it comes time to re-supply!

Taylor K-2006
2006C, or just 2006 ? The 2006 has small bottles. Somebody else ran out of FC tests one week into a slam the other day.

You want the C refills but they dont fit the No-C case, so if its a No-C just start over at Tftestkits.net when this one runs out.

Its totally cool and youre sitting pretty compared to everyone else who was sold strips or told to come in for 'free testing', but when the time comes we'll do better.

Unfortunately, it's just the 2006. I simply clicked on the Amazon link that my pool builder sent me and bought what popped up...I didn't know anything at the time and I didn't realize the "C" was a thing until I started up with TFP very recently. Oh well, lesson learned for next time. Like you said, I'll use up my 2006 then switch over to TFtestkits.net. Thanks again!
