What do you think of this hard plumb?

Hayward Aqua Rite (T-9)
Had this done by local pool store, wasnt there and have a few thoughts. Needed the bypass on the heater as pump is 1hp and water needs to go through it slower since only 20k btu. Thinking the backflow should be between heater and where the by pass joins before the salt generator rather than right after the bypass before the salt chlorinator. Any feedback welcome. Also worried about getting wet taking the filter basket off, hoped id have a ball valve right before it, not just on skimmer. Also corners are sharp on the bypass.

Any adjustments needed?

Thanks

Pool 16ft round above ground.

Check valve should be after the heater, before the bypass, not after.

Personal preference, I would want diverters, not ball valves, they just go bad quickly.
Should have used unions on the pump suction side, on the connection to the pump, not in front of the pump.
Can't see the connection between the pump and filter. Don't know the model # of the pump/filter unit, so can't comment.
Should have used unions on the exit of the filter.
Should have used unions on the heater.

I don't see the ball valve on the skimmer, so hard to comment if diverter is required in front of pump. Ball valves are just a bad idea in general...

thank u! Ugh, I asked for unions either side of each equipment piece so I can easily disconnect, I thought thats what those white screw things were. The glue scares me because Im probably not going to be able to move the backflow to the other side of the bypass now am I? This was a pool store tech- do I have any recourse? Im ****** because they agreed a price before and they sent a bill for triple the amount. The actual tech was nice. Filter pump combo is 100 SQ FT XSTREAM SYS W/1HP LX

If you didn't specify requirements in the contract, there is likely not much you can do.
If there were specifications, and they didn't meet those specification, they need to correct.
If there was a contract for a specific set of requirements, and they delivered those requirements, but charged you triple, without a change order, you likely have some recourse, but will be difficult row to hoe.
These are not unions:

This is a "union" but not a "union ON the equipment":

Thank you. Do those not screw off then? Theres no way for me to disconnect just the heater, id have to take a few feet of pipe with it is that right? Included pic of skimmer. Its hayward, i cut into the intex a few years ago (ignore wrapping it was to protect plastic in winter)

Everything, except the exit of the filter allows you to screw them off with a union.

Except, you cannot disconnect heater without cutting pipe.

The valve on the skimmer and return allow you to shutoff flow down to your equipment.

Yes, that's where it should have been installed. And to prevent confusion, "check valve" should be used to describe that part.

Any feedback welcome.
They should have installed a 3-way diverter for your bypass instead of two ball valves. Consider adding pipe supports. The SWCG should ideally be "hump down" to ensure the plates are completely submerged (more of an issue with VSPs at low RPM).

they agreed a price before and they sent a bill for triple the amount.
Do you have the agreement in writing? Why did the bill triple?

Unfortunately not. It was over phone- and I did confirm on two separate calls. I also asked the tech if it would be extra twice and he said no, just the parts. The labor tripled. He was very nice and the company was nice on phone so ill call monday and discuss with them. Hopefully can get a resolution, especially since it wasn’t done to my requested spec.
