How much acid do I add to drop Alkalinity?

My Total Alkalinity is 120. The app says to add acid, but I am not sure how much to add? I added 1 gallon of muriatic acid 3 days ago when Total Alkalinity was 141 and my PH was 8.2. My PH is now 7.8 so ok, but the Alkalinity is too high.
Thanks SO MUCH for any advice!

Read here & here first to understand the relationship between PH & Alkalinity.

If you look at your PH in the app, it will tell you how much acid to add (make sure to select the chemical you're going to use) to lower your pools PH to your designated target PH.

I add a little less than the recommended and test again to mitigate overshooting my chemistry and creating imbalances.

How are you doing the test to get TA of 141? Whatever you do, never allow the pH to go below 7.0. The TA will lower itself over time as you manage the pH

Leslie's pool supply tested my water and gave me the TA of 141. I measured today with my TF kit and it was 120.
Thank you for letting me know about the PH.
Do you recommend I just let things be - - don't add anything right now?

Your TA is just fine. Manage your pH. When it gets higher than 8, reduce it to 7.6. Over time pH will rise on its own. Lower it again when it gets over 8.
Overtime this will bring down your TA. When TA gets to 60-80, pH will tend to me fairly stable 7.8-8.0...Any pH 7.0 to 8.0 is just fine.
