Preserving test reagents?

Soooo I accidentally ordered two TF-100 refill kits (not even in the same order. I ordered one set, forgot and ordered another set a few days later).

I know reagents “expire”. Is there any way to keep them good until next season? Vacuum seal them in a bag or something?

Nah, I’ll keep them. Nobody’s fault but my own, so I wouldn’t want them to have to deal with the return.

Do NOT vacuum seal them! Some of these reagents are aqueous solutions and pulling vacuum on them could cause them to evaporate slightly. If anything just store them in a cool dry place. If you have a large, air tight container that could hold them you could throw them in there with a few desiccation packets and or oxygen scavenger packs (those are used for sealing up jerky for long term storage). That would work. Do not refrigerate either as the the lower temps can cause inadvertent precipitation.

Ohh, now you tell me. The K2006c comes with two containers of R-0780 so I vacuum seal one with a desiccant pack. But being a dry powder the R-0780 would be the odd one out and should be OK being vacuum sealed? I’m getting close to needing it so I guess I’m about to find out.
