I’m sorry 😞 need help on the 5ppm of liquid chlorine. I think I’m having a moment of forgetting anything I’ve ever learned about the pool stuff. Do i need to do a fc test and get that number then enter 5 as my goal to see how many gallons I need?

When was the last time you added chlorine and what was the FC at that time?
I had the water tested yesterday and the fc was .43, tc 1.56, cc 1.13. I haven’t added anything for several days but did have nst prime (non stabilized) tablets in the skimmer until today when we started vacuuming to waste. Ph was 7.2, ch 237, ta 66, cya 91.
The water brought in was from county line and has some chlorine in it they said.

CC
Chlorine drop test didn’t turn pink with adding the r-0870 so no chlorine?
Did not do the fas/dpd since the powder didn’t turn it pink in the drop test

pH 7.2
TA 70
CH 200
CYA 55

So, Your CYA is 60, always round up to the next 10.

You should do the CYA again when the sun is out. You really need to be outdoor with sun. Makes a difference.

Do this when the sun is up tomorrow. Stand with your back to the sun. Fill to the first line. Hold and your waist in front of you in the shadow of your body. Glance. If the dot is visible, fill to the next line. Repeat until the dot is obscured. Take the number on that line and add 10. That is your CYA.

I'm assuming your pool still has algae, so with that CYA number, start the SLAM process. Link-->SLAM Process

I’m not sure if there’s still algae or not. All the sides and floors were vacuumed earlier day.
For the cya it was somewhere between 51-55 so I went with the 55 ( once I couldn’t see at 50 I took some away and did a little at a time to see when the dot wasn’t visible).
I only added 2 gallons tonight. Should I back and add 6 more tonight for the SLAM?

Volume is important. Make the addition as you have calculated, pump running. Test 30 minutes later.

Go back to pool math, enter your starting and ending FC and adjust the pool volume until you get the same 591 ounce addition. That will be close to your actual pool volume.
