Now the question..why not just add another bag of salt? Why let the cell do it?

The SWG do not raise salt. It takes salt that’s there, breaks it into Chlorine and sodium and then the atoms combine again into salt.

Your FC is just barely above min for a CyA of 70. Target is 5. If it were my pool, I’d run it at 6 or 7.

Thanks Im on a HUGE learning curve..let the pool guy go since peeps on this site said I could learn here.
Ok that makes sense--wonder why I was told to let the cell do the work by the Ro company??
As for the salt..I do need to add? Best to add 1-40lb bag and then retest after 24 hours?
Also I was told as long as FC between 1-5-- I was good.

40 lbs. of salt will raise your salinity by 200 ppm. If you 2700 ppm measurement is good you'll need a couple 40 lb. bags.

I was told to give my SWG an acid bath for 15 minutes in straight muriatic acid, to remove calcium scaling every 3 months. My calcium is 50 or less and I would never have scaling, but the cell soaked for 3.25 hours in MA before I learned better. No KIDDING it died early.

So yeah. Keep the advice seeking here, or no promises.

There’s some bad advice out there. I was once told by a pool store that my FC was too high (it wasn’t) and therefore needed to turn down my SWG and add two bags of “shock” (I didn’t).
