Dropped cover in pool

Hey everyone,

Despite my best efforts to raise the water level to make it easier, at the very end some grimy pollen leaf water that sat on top of the cover all winter got into the pool and the cloud spread rapidly throughout.

I currently am running the pool on main drain only, as the water level isn’t high enough at the moment, with the multiport valve set to recirculate. Kind of overwhelmed as to my next steps at the moment, can anyone confirm if this is what I should do?

- continue recirculating while adding water
- once water level is high enough tomorrow, vacuum to waste
- once majority of the stuff is gone, continue to recirculate and test water
- balance water
- add DE
- slam

Pictures to show current state. It was crystal clear blue before it dropped in so I’m upset. I dropped a gallon of liquid chlorine in but without knowing my levels I doubt that did anything. Anyways please help!

This used to be my life every year til .I got a cover pump. Swamp water is a pain to clean up but mostly it's just time and chlorine. Usually lots of chlorine. But, I must say, your swamp water is relatively mild compared to what we used to have so hopefully, you're cleanup goes quickly.

Well that definitely makes me feel better, thank you.

Do you think to be safe I should throw in 2 gallons of liquid chlorine once the sun goes down?

That's what I did. My cover is mesh so everything goes in. Leaves also blow under it.
