Hey all, bought my first home in late November in Wisconsin. As you can imagine there wasn't any time or weather permitting time to do much with the pool. The previous owners said they had used it last summer and also winterized it in late October. Other than draining some water I do not believe it was winterized or used last year. There is a massive amount of algae.

After doing a couple weeks of research after trying to tackle this project I have come to the conclusion that SLAMMMING it is the only option. I have downloaded the app here and trying to calculate and understand how much of what needs to be added. Posted current results. Have an 18ft round, 4ft deep round pool with a sand filter.

Any information would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I dont think that is the “pool math” app unless theres a clone floating around. Dont follow those recommendations!

Not sure where you found that app but the recommendations listed are very wrong.

Download the correct Pool Math app from this link

You are correct, I haven't gotten the new tests as of yet...that are recommended here. Brand new as of today, and quite the learning curve. Have som.e on the way, but would like to start getting supplies together to SLAM. Or an idea of what is needed

if theres visible algae in the pool, its dafe to add 5ppm liquid chlorine to the pool each day until the kit arrives. We can walk you through it. It may seem like a big learning curve but itll be easy once you do it.
