Hey Everyone,

Looking for anyone who can shed some personal experience on pool slides.

I’m looking for the most fun slide I can get to increase the longevity and return on the cost. I am a bit space constrained so I have the below two options.

Single piece dolphin 15.5ft slide or a custom dolphin 23.44 ft slide. Would the extra 8ft add a lot more fun and be worth the cost? I find it surprising that the custom slide has a slightly lower elevation and therefore less drop per foot which is where my concern started…

One last alternative is non-built in sr smith turbo twister…. Lean against this. Totally different look but cheaper install

Also have the SR Smith Typhoon. Have a neighbor with a longer one, more twists in it, and all of our kids seem to like mine. A quick ride on the slide is all they really need, it's the splash down they all seem to want, and both provide that. I like the typhoon because it has a smaller footprint, is plenty quick, and gets you in the water. The ones I have seen with the sharper turns seem to whip the bigger kids into the corners, but others with these may give more insight. If I were to build another pool (and still have younger kids), I'd get the one with less sharp turns, and a small footprint.

Thank you!
The turbo twister I am still debating seems to be just a little bit taller version of the typhoon. It has just that one partial turn like the typhoon. The dolphin single piece is also pretty straight.

This is good advice tho. Basically saying the thrill comes from the splash and not the ride so a few extra feet for lots more money is not a good value.

Thats my thoughts at least. The big turns just whip the kids around, and the real fun is coming out of the slide into the water.

Did you get the slide? I bought one from Dolphins too ( amazing company)

When we put in our pool, we opted for no slide (just a diving board), but before that, I had chosen the Turbo Twister. Fairly small footprint for the height/turns. The public pool we used to belong to had two of them. So I has been able to use it and I enjoyed it. They received a lot of use there and felt sturdy.
