So which one is it? Acid or baking soda?

I SLAM’d last month. Great results. Algae free crystal clear water with CC under .5ppm. Then yesterday water turned cloudy but still blue almost overnight. No problem, I’ll use my Taylor K-2006 test kit to find the problem.
My results:
1.8 FC
1.0 CC
7.5 pH
130 TA
CH 290
CYA 30
So when I consulted my handy Pool Math app and plugged in my pH as 7.5 and target 7.6 and TA 130 it tells me to use 11.0 oz of Soda Ash. I know, no big deal……….BUT…..
When I plugged in my TA in the app as 130 with my target as 70 it tells me to ‘reduce my pH to 7.0-7.2 with acid’.
So do I use soda ash to raise pH or acid to lower my TA.
Am I missing something?
Thanks.

Don’t worry about TA. That level is fine, a higher level just causes PH to rise slightly quicker but isn’t bad in itself.
Just manage ph, when it gets to high 7s bring it down in increments (so you don’t overshoot) to 7.2.
Reducing the ph with Acid will also lower your TA)

BTW your FC is dangerously low. I know you have a CYA of 30 but you are below minimum and are risky more algae. Get some chlorine in their pronto.
Target is 4 to 6 for your CYA and you should always err on the side of caution. I’d be targeting 6 as a minimum to give you wiggle room. You are safe to swim (assuming you can see the bottom of your pool everywhere) up to your SLAM level of 12.

Thanks, Yes, I’ll get some chlorine in there. So you’re saying manage pH and TA will take care of itself? So pH and TA are okay. You think it’s the low FC causing the cloudiness?
