Wireless thermometer

I didn’t take it out, so frozen water it was. I certainly don’t heat it during the winter. :)
Well I can’t think of a better testament to its durability than that. :). I wonder if some lithium batteries would last longer, especially over the winter.

Thanks for the feedback!

I have an InkBird pool thermometer and an InkBird wireless gateway. The cost for both is around $80.00. The thermometer comes with a display I leave in the house and the WiFi gateway has an app that lets you chart the temp and see it anywhere. The temperature on it matches with what my salt cell temp and my old pool thermometer says, so it seems pretty accurate to me.

I’ve had the Inkbird IBS-P01R for a couple of years and am happy with it. A tip if you want to change batteries a lot less often, use lithium.

Thanks for your testimonials, which helped inform my purchase of an Inkbird IBS-M2 Wi-Fi Gateway with IBS-P02R-O Thermometer. My pool is too far away from the house for the sensor to communicate reliably with the gateway, but as my Wi-Fi signal is strong (TP-Link CPE-210), I mounted the gateway in a waterproof enclosure mounted to the deck. It's convenient to monitor air and water temperature at the pool, and with an additional IBS-P02R-O sensor, water temperature at the pond, too!

I use this one, just a little crazier so maybe a few vs a couple will make it even more reasonable. On my 3rd season with it and still running strong. I leave it in year round.

Integration with other Ambient Weather devices presumably enables tracking of pool temp vs. air temp, humidity, and wind among other relevant factors. Super slick!

I have the ambient weather station (love it btw) and they sell a $30 submergeable sensor I would recommend over the floating one. It's cheaper and you can use pool patches to adhere it to the side wall of your pool so it stays out of the way. Only downside is the unit is not waterproof. I just used a ziplock bag and zip tied it inside.

You of course get all the charts.
Very nice! Can the chart also include air temp, humidity, wind, etc.?

Yeah Ambient Weather makes a fantastic product. Been very happy with my weather station, and the ability to plug sensors in is a killer feature. I've got another sensor in my chest freezer. if it goes above 0F I get an email.

I'm not seeing any out there with great reviews. Does the product not exist?
I was able to find this on Amazon. It's called YoLink. Google it and you'll get the information you need... there's lot of it.

I keep the sensor in a ziplock bag (not sure if I need too as it's weatherproof) and keep it under my skimmer lid. The probe is waterproof and the sensor is long range. No worries about how far the pool is away from your house.

I can use my phone or check my pool temp. It works with all sorts of home automation too like Google and Alexa so you can even ask your speaker what the pool temp is.
