We have a neighbor that is having their pool plastered today. The builder told them they will acid wash it right after the plaster and begin filling it.

Doesn't plaster usually need to set for about 24 hours before the acid wash and fill?

Ideally the pool will be left empty for at *least 6 hours* past finishing the plaster, then filled.
I'm not aware of how an acid wash before the water fill works? I'm more familiar with the acid being put into the water-filled pool , as a "Hot Start" .

Depends on what specific finish is being applied.

Need to know the plaster manufacture and finish name to comment further.
