Using Taylor salt test kit. How would you read this? I said 8. My test strip said 10. Thanks!

If you have the Taylor 2006 test kit then use the FAS-DPD test for your FC level. The drop test is just to confirm you have chlorine. Also, don‘t use test strips because they only provide a range whereas the FAS-DPD test provides you specific data.

Ok, thank you. I'll try the FAS-DPD (it seems way more complicated). I don't routinely use test strips, they came with the set up so I used to for an approximate confirmation.

The image was too blurry, the camera was not focused on the test block but on the background image. Just looking at the shades, you are close to or over 10ppm FC. It's better to use a white background, like a disposable paper plate, with indirect bright lighting. But I have the same comparator block and you're definitely over 7.5 at least.

The DPD-FAS titration test gives much more precise result all the way up to 50ppm FC.

I have the K-2005 salt kit so although it has instructions for the FAS-DPD test, no reagents. Appears as though I’ll need to order them.

You can just order the Taylor K-1515 kit. It gives you all the FAS-DPD reagents. Also, use a SpeedStir, it makes testing enormously less complicated.

Thanks. It was cheaper to just buy the reagants (enough for 100 tests) from Amazon.
