Big mix of blunders trying to treat algae

Yes, that is perfect. Check the date on them, to make sure they are not too old. The code will be a Julian date, so you will have to decipher that. For reference today's Julian date is 22241 (year + day # of the year).

The CC was 1. How do I bring up my FC to 20? Shock it? I have two packets of Shockwave? My current psi is 20, and I currently have my chlorinator on my SWG at 80%. Should I turn it up to 100%?

I didn't run the calcium or the CYA today.
The water is much clearer than it's been.
I did do a backwash and filter clean, vacuum has been running and pump has been on 24/7.

pH test is inaccurate about FC of 10ppm - so ignore the high pH reading for now.

I'd let the FC drift down - tonight after sunlight is off the pool, take another FC reading.
Tomorrow morning, before sunlight hits the pool, take one more FC reading to make sure you aren't losing FC overnight.

As long as FC is below SLAM level and you can see clearly the deepest part of the pool, the pool can be enjoyed!

I noticed you have a SWG and also said that you run your pump overnight. Did you turn off your SWG? Leaving it on overnight could impact your OCLT results since it would be producing chlorine at the time only algae would be consuimg your chlorine giving you a false result of passing the OCLT.

I do have a SWG, and just figured out how to turn it off. Still in the learning mode.. I’ve got it off now. I’ll check the level tonight and in the morning and will report. I can see the bottom of the pool. Have been able to all along. There is still a slight cloudiness to the water, but not like it has been.

If water is still cloudy, you likely need to complete a SLAM process. If your SWCG was running during your previous test, I bet there’s no way you’ll pass the criteria to avoid SLAM.

Last night my FC was 16 and CC 0. This morning my FC is 15.5 and CC 0. Water is very clear this morning.
Last question, when do so start to bring the pH down, now that everything looks good?

You have met two of the three criteria to stop the SLAM. Have you met the third?

1. Your Pool water is crystal clear with no visible sign of algae
2. You passed the OCLT losing not more than 1 ppm of FC
3. Your CC's test is either .5 ppm or 0 ppm.

Maybe a typo, but leave your pH alone for now. Let the FC drift down to the correct level.......then check pH
