Did my first SLAM, heater running so I could get in and brush, etc. FC at slam level was 13. I just read where it’s bad for heaters? I have a Coates electric heater. I’m at the end of SLAM but hesitant to turn off heater now, wouldn’t that just leave the high chlorine water sitting in it? Should I just let it keep running as the FC comes down? This pool was spendy and it’s only a year old, can’t afford to screw it up already. 😬

You are fine.

The water is running through your heater whether it is heating or not.

Whew thanks. Also does the sunlight need to be direct to affect FC? Passed the OCLT from 10pm -5:30am. But just did another FC test, and it’s dropped 1 already. It’s bright out but no direct sunlight on pool.

No.

If you can see the sunlight so can your pool.
