Aqualink RS4 + Pump run time...?

Just moved in and am submerged (ha, ha) in TFP New Pool Wisdom.

One of the important bits seems to be how long you run your pump. This pool has an Aqualink RS4 control panel. I can open the box (barely pictured) and shut off the pump, but I can't for the life of me find where a schedule is programmed. It seems to just run all the time unless I shut it off.

The control panel "controls" the vacuum and I can turn the pump on and off from there but everything under 'program' says 'not programmable.'

Am I missing something or is this just a manually-controlled pump with no real automation?

It would be best if you can open that AquaLink box and snap a picture of it. Also, do you have a controller on the wall in your home or a handheld device?
You must have some automation because you have valve controllers on your suction and return junctions. Those wires lead to the panel box.
You usually cannot program anything from the panel box. It is just for manual needs and servicing the equipment.
If you do have a control panel in the home or some other place then snap a picture of that.

Here's what I've got!

I'm seeing stuff about 'iAquaLink' but I don't know if that's a totally separate controller or something that can plug in to the one I have. I also see there's a project on Github for a USB adapter that plugs into the main panel and gives you a web interface you can run off a linux box. But for right now I'd settle for knowing how to schedule my pump manually!

The iAquaLink implies it is wireless and links to a cloud so you can view on either your phone or computer. Based on what I see, you have an earlier version where the wall panel is connected to the the outside box. I see the screen is lit on the wall panel but I do not see any info. On the bottom left are as set of buttons, the one on far bottom left is MENU. Have you pressed that? What do you see if you do press it?

See the attached manual. Go to Section 4 on page 28 where it starts to discuss setting up your wall panel and programing.
If your wall panel does not communicate with the outside box then there is an issue with the wiring or a setting.
Lets stop here and see what you can access using the menu button.

The menu button gives me sub-menus like PROGRAM, setting the date & time ... it's definitely talking to the box outside. I can activate the vacuum (aux 1) from the controller. But I can't seem to access any sort of pump schedule. I'll check the manual later though, thank you!

Follow the manual. Set the date and time so all your other efforts make sense. After that, you need to go to program and it will ask what piece of equipment to program.
Are you able to turn your pump on and off from the wall panel? It would be that top left button which has the LED light on it.
