Test kits Canada

Same old question yet again!

I've always ordered my TF100 refills here, shipped to my address in Buffalo & picked up there. This year, this may be a problem. I won't need them until sometime mid-May, but the way things are going there's no guarantee that it will be possible to cross the border by that time. I could ship to a friend & get them to forward it, but just wondering: are there any issues with sending these pool chemicals across the border using the mail? What experiences have people had doing this? Thanks for any feedback!

I’m hoping someone else with more specific info will come along but my 2 cents for now... I just bought a couple of things in the US which are being shipped US priority to Australia. No mention of any potential problems or delays. I’m looking at a new Taylor K2006C from another supplier and they don’t indicate any shipping problems either.

Might be arranging a family member in Florida to order mine, my pool will be installed in a few months and I'd like to get on top and learn about testing etc. It's quite surprising that there is nothing readily available in Canada at a fair price. I'm also wondering about shipping these chemicals.

Cross border shipping can be an issue for anyone selling Taylor chemical reagents. One company has an exclusive contract with Taylor, so US based companies can't ship north of the border by contract with Taylor.

Family/friends that will re-ship or commercial forwarding companies are the options.

I have ordered my K-2006C kit and K-1766 salt kit and reagent refills, all off of amazon.ca and have had no problem receiving them through Canada Post here in Manitoba. Having said that, it does depend on the seller. Some won't ship to Canada. Some will. So you have to do some extra searching. Also, sometimes means extra cost. I just ordered the K-1766 and the first seller I found was around $45-50 but wouldn't ship to Canada. I was starting to see if I could just order the reagents and stumbled across another K-1766 kit. Interestingly enough, this seller did not come up when I searched for "K-1766"!!! I clicked on many different sellers of reagent refills and checked their store and eventually found another seller for the K-1766 that does ship to Canada. Downside? $90. Double the price! So definitely keep looking. There are sellers on amazon.ca that will ship to Canada!

Do you know if there are any issues with this regarding shipping chemicals over the border? I have family in upper NY state that I know wouldn't mind shipping it up, I just would want to make it easier for them if there are special considerations we would have to follow.

I’m an essential worker who travels to the US regularly. I’ve shipped both my first kit and refills to my US hotels. I’m willing to pick up for other members and meet / ship from in Canada.

I live in Barrie, work in Hamilton, can meet along the way or ship.

No import / duty / Canadian taxes.

Oh I just ordered off Walmart, I wish I had seen your offer! May have to contact you in the future. Very generous, thanks!

Curious to know what they told you for shipping. I live in Sudbury, and I was told it would be delivered beginning of May... but I received it yesterday!! I was shocked. I legitimately was so confused when I got a package, I was like "a surprise! what could it be?!" haha!

My shipping was $22. I always assume shipping is more expensive up here than to Toronto! But yeah, wild for the prices. Still cheaper than going through Lowry & Associates though! :/

Just got my K-1766 salt test kit. Took about 2 weeks to come from an Amazon seller in California. I couldn't find a seller that would ship to Canada originally, so had phoned Lowry & Associates. The guy I spoke to said I had to email to get a quote. Um...ok... Anyway, I still haven't heard from them! Finally found someone on Amazon that would ship to Canada.
