Aquapure 1400 121 Error

Make sure that the equipment is registered with Jandy and make sure that the warranty claim is filed in their system before the 3 years is up. If the builder says no, go directly to Jandy.

I am on with them right now they see all my other equipment but not the Nature2. He added it he said no problems it'll be covered. They are looking for a local rep that can come out and check it out.

I got a hold of the company and scheduled a look-see. Of course, it is now working perfectly. No issues, no errors, and it goes into regular and reverse polarity without issue. I did connect that new meter and it reads the same. I tried to get a voltage reading but it was showing like 64 volts so not sure what is going on with that perhaps the meter is flaky. I'll re-check that again with my other mm. They are coming out next Wednesday. If the problem is not warranty, they charge $125 for the look. So I guess if it doesn't show up again I'll just cancel.

One odd thing is that from time to time, I lose connection to the SWG. When it happens, I cannot connect via Aqualink. It simply doesn't show a SWG like I didn't have one. But the SWG is still running and I can control it at the panel. That's been happening for well over a year. To regain control I either power cycle the entire Aqualink or else I shut off the pump. Both power off the SWG and it comes back up upon restart. This happened this morning it disappeared and I shut off the pump to get it back. Since then I have had no issues. Perhaps this whole issue is due to a loose connection?

Are you sure that it was set to DC volts?

You have the picture of the 121 code with a good salt level. So, I would tell them to just bring a new cell and change it out.

Less than 6 amps is too low for the current. In my opinion, the cell has failed and needs to be replaced. I think that the center post is corroding.

Positive it was set to DC I even tested it with a 9 volt and AAA battery and the reading was correct.

If they come out here and it is in the state it is in now, they are not going to replace anything and they will charge me $125. I don't think my photo evidence will sway them. I'll wait until Tuesday and if the error isn't back, I'll ask to reschedule for like a week later and see if it comes back then. If not, I guess I'll chalk it up to sunspots. As much as I would love to get a new cell under warranty, it is not likely Jandy is going to call this a warranty case.

I also don't understand why you are saying it should be over 6% when Jandy/Zodiac say max 6 amps.

I will ask other forum members to test their amps and see what it says. Maybe a couple are able to do that would be an interesting test!

Oh - How often does it reverse? Does it reverse 50% of the runtime? I don't know the cycle times. If at 50% for instance, I know it is 50% on and resting 50% but how long does it actually run time-wise?

I think that the AquaPure 1400 is roughly the same as the AquaRite T-15, which would be about 6.5 amps right now.

The 121 code is low current. So, the box is saying that the current is low.

Maybe call Jandy and ask what the current should be for your salinity and water temperature.

Ask them at what current the low current 120 or 121 code comes on.

Can you show how you were measuring the voltage?

TheAquaPure automatically cleans the Cell electrodes once every 3 hours by reversing polarity. This does not interrupt the production of Chlorine.

So, the plot thickens. This morning I woke up to a failed state again. This time it is showing errors 125 and 194 (but not 121). I also was never able to test the current in the failed state because I didn't have the clamp on meter. This morning I tried it and it has almost no current while showing the cell is on and reversing. It looks to me like the cell reversing is not working at all and when it flips to this state, nothing is working.

I will leave this exactly as-is for when they come out to look at it on Wednesday. Hopefully it is something simple like a bad cell.

Annnnnnnnd now it appears to be totally failed. I get that error on both regular and reverse mode. Looking at the outputs in the pool I see no bubbles at all. Normally I would get a very steady stream of bubbles when it is running. So looks like I will be manually chlorinating for awhile. Pool temp is down to 80 though so I shouldn't need too much.

Probably the center pin corrosion.

Checked the pool this morning FC reads at 6.5 but now getting error 123. I am planning on adding chlorine when it drops too low but so far it seems there is some chlorine production going on.

Interestingly, my salt level seems to be creeping up. Not sure if that is something failing or the water temp dropping. It is at 77 now and salt showing at 3700.

Definitely a bad cell. Hopefully, the service technician will bring a new cell and cord and replace the old ones.

Check the amperage with the new cell.

Ask the technician to leave the old cell.

If you get a chance, measure the size of the plates for reference.

The T-15 has 13 Titanium Plates, 150 x 63mm. I suspect that the 1400 cell is probably the same.

Got the new cable I ordered today. I'll not install it or even mention it though and let the techs trouble-shoot tomorrow. With any luck I'll get a new cell and cable under warranty. I doubt they will let me keep the old cell most likely Jandy wants it back but for sure I will ask. I would love to take it apart.

Still getting 125 and 194. I actually don't think the cell is producing any chlorine at all. I am testing each morning and 1 FC chlorine down each day. I also don't see any bubbles at all coming out of the returns. I usually get lots of bubbles. I cranked it to 100% for now since whenever it is in a "resting" state, the errors go away and I want no question that there is a problem when they come tomorrow.

Simple question: As my water gets colder, does the salinity reading go up? I am at 3700 I am just a little concerned that it might rise above 4000 and then they use that to deny the claim. I am thinking of putting on the heater.

The salinity should be temperature compensated.

What are you getting on the K-1766?

You can recalibrate if necessary.

Press the “Salinity” button and hold it until it beeps 3 times. The system will beep when you push it and then at 5 seconds and again at 10 seconds. Release the button after the 3rd beep. Press and release the “Temperature “ button within 5 seconds to enter the salinity calibration screen. The system will display the salinity reading, press the up arrow to increase the reading and the down arrow to decrease the reading. When the proper reading is reached press the “Temperature” button within 5 seconds to store it in memory.

Good news! Guy was just out here and diagnosed a bad cell and cable. He will do the warranty claim and be out when the new cell arrives. And he said I am welcome to keep the old cell Jandy doesn't want it and he doesn't want it. Sweet!

OK. It would have been nice if he brought the new parts, as that is what the likely problem was. Now he has to make a new trip and you might have to reschedule something else to be there if you want to be there. This could have been done in one visit.

I asked him about that and he said they don't keep those in stock as not many of their customers have the FusionSoft. It is a very small company the guy that came is one of the guy's who's picture is on the website.
