Hi All,

Does anyone know the code for Fort Myers Florida and the distance from the overhead high power utility power lines and the pool? I’ve received several pool quotes and some have a said 6’ and others said 10‘. The power lines are at least 25’ high, which I’m sure is fine. My question is the horizontal distance. Thank you in advance.

Keep in mind that most pool poles expand up to 25' in length. However the code is written, you need to be sure the pole will not contact the overhead wires when cleaning the pool. A quick google of "Fort Myers Florida residential pool regulations " delivered this document https://cityftmyers.com/DocumentCenter/View/13008/Pool-Spa-Checklist-PDF
which contains, " These plans were prepared and shall comply with the following:-Sixth Edition (2017) Florida Building Code, Building, Plumbing, Mechanical, Fuel Gas and/or Existing Building-2014 National Electric Code" So find a copy of the state building code.

Thank you. It looks like it’s 10’ and this is it here: Searchable platform for building codes
