Chlorine storage tank color & size?

Ready to automate the application of liquid chlorine, so have been pricing out a pump tank system.

The Stenner tanks won't look fit our space unless we ran a significant length of tubing, but I have found 25, 40, 45, & 50 gallon chem storage tanks that will fit well. Most come in black or white, and some also offered in green or blue - all UV stabilized.

Will the color matter much as far as degradation of chlorine bleach?

Any reason to not go with the biggest tank possible (aside from having to fill it?).

Area gets full sun much of the day, and we are in the Houston area, if that matters.

The color doesn’t matter other than you want it very opaque.

The tank doesn’t need to be any bigger than you will use in four weeks or so. You don’t want to hold chlorine any longer than that.

I typically add 8 gallons about every three weeks.

Good to know on the color - leaning towards the black or green for aesthetics - both are plenty opaque. Size-wise, looking at just the 25 gallon but the price points were all in the same general area so wanted to make sure if bigger wasn't necessarily better; doesn't sound like it. Might also be able to go down in size to the 20 gal. Thanks!

I would think the lighter the color the better for chlorine. White will help reflect the heat and black will absorb it. Is it possible to bury the majority of the tank in the ground? In ground will keep the contents cooler than above ground with sun beating on it.

Hmmm...yeah, white is an option and I thought about the reflectivity/absorption issue, but also noted that Stenner sells their systems in grey and white, so guessing color is a minimal factor in those quantities.
Unfortunately , in-ground isn't really an option - and I've buried components before and want no part of it...LOL

So will you be using a pump to inject or simply storing large volume of LC to pour as needed?

I have a blue colored 15 gallon tank. I see you are in Houston, there is a guy who sales used tanks from the Pepsi Bottling plant over off 249. I can not remember the corner he is on but up closer to Tomball. I think I paid $20. He had all kinds of sizes.

The plan is to get a Stenner Econ T to pump the LC.
