Just refilled my pool and need help

Pool store? That could be big trouble. How about the city water authority?

The city water authority doesn't list it on any website. Do you not think a pool store would know the CH in tap water? Do you really think they'd lie about it?

Anyway, it looks like zero is the correct reading. I just called the All American Pool Company in Lemoore and was told that city water, depending on which part of town, will run anywhere from zero to 50.
Easy peasy.
That confirms The Tank's reading as correct and that he needs to raise the CH in his pool.

Lie about it - probably not. However, I wouldn't trust their test results. I haven't seen any PS test accurately (in the over 20 years I've had a pool) - and certainly not as accurate as I can test with my TF-100. They are always in a rush, don't clean equipment between tests - and honestly, the 'kids' that they hire really don't care if they are accurate or not. Taking the sample water sample to 3 different PS will result in 3 different results.

If you use your own test kit (TF-100 or K2006C) and follow the directions, your results will always be accurate. No one cares as much about your pool as you do.

I called city of Lemoore water division and apparently they are closed for the day. The fact that a member took the the time to call my local pool store tells me I'm in the right place for help and that's greatly appreciated. I did find this on the web site but I'm not sure if it means anything and it's from 2018.
