Can anyone tell me where this goes? Of course I emptied my sand filter last fall and forgot! It connects to bottom of the tube that goes to the lateral fingers. Does it get buried in the sand? Sit up top? Thank you!

I think that is the air release/breather tube for side inlet/outlet sand filters.
It is a blue torrent sand filter. I was able to find the directions online after an hour of non stop searching. Turns out that it is a breather tube and it is supposed to sit on top of the sand. Thank you for your help!
