Pretty excited for Monday, if the weather holds our pool instillation should begin. Builder is Signature Pools (and associated landscaping/fencing companies) and we are going with a Leisure Pools Elegance 23 Fiberglass.

Signature is a big fan of the Pentair brand (which is good for support since both Pentair and Signature are located nearby)

Pentair:
CCP420 Filter
Intelliflo VSF
EasyTouch 4 Automation (adding the Screenlogic2 System myself after the fact)
IC40 Salt Water Generator

Pool is 4'4" shallow to 5'7" deep and 7,113 gallons.

Landscapers moved our existing pine trees (only a few years old, easy move) and hopefully we break ground Monday. Hoping to provide updated pics as we go.

Looking forward to following the TFP system for maintaining myself.

Construction started yesterday. Hole dug and stone down. Equipment on the pad. Pool went in the ground this morning! I was working remote yesterday so could panic as construction destroyed the yard, but from here out I'll be arriving home each day to progress. Once pool is plumbed and backfilled landscaping will build the retaining wall. From there, patio will be poured and fence installed down the line. Hoping to be swimming in a month or so!

That is who we had do our Leisure pool a few years ago (we did our own landscaping and fencing though). We are very happy with everything they did and cannot say enough about them and their service. I did not find TFP until it was almost done, but everything they did seemed to align with what has been discussed here construction and equipment wise. They do recommend to follow the standard chemical guidelines, but did not push back too hard when I mentioned following TFP. I think it has more to do with the equipment warranty then anything. Congratulations!

Yeah, their "pool school" guy sent over a list of chemicals that included dry acid. I mentioned TFP forums seeming to recommend Muriatic Acid (especially for a SWG / Sulfates) and he didn't push back hard. It's weird, because I want to take all his recommendations, but I feel like this system is something I can really get behind and follow so I'm glad he wasn't too pushy about a single way of maintaining a pool.

They've been great so far, and we are using different contractors for landscaping/fence as well but Signature has been really good in communicating between the companies.

That's a nice neat job on the equipment (yay for the SWG!) pad. Good to see they're using rock for base and backfill.

More pics as they progress, please :)

I was pretty happy when I saw the actual pad matched his renderings. Nice, neat, simple. I feel very comfortable with the layout and keeping track of everything once I take ownership. Have an Easytouch 4 system. I feel like the equipment itself could be set by itself but I suppose having more control using automation (even for a little pool like ours without features, etc) will be useful.

You're actually probably teaching *him* something, to be honest.

Retaining wall started today, finishing tomorrow. Rain the rest of the week will put the deck pour on hold until next week.

Curious if anyone can guess/knows what this random black pipe lifting up from the side of the pool is? Doesn’t seem to be connected to any pipes on the pool. Is it some sort of pour hole for concrete under the pool itself? I’ll certainly ask the PB but figured I’d test ya’ll knowledge as well.

Feeling pretty proud, hooked up the ScreenLogic2 system w/ wireless adapters myself this weekend. Probably isn’t rocket science at any rate, guess I’m just impressed with the product since it worked right away. Pic is showing off a light show to the “snoopervisor” last night.

Pump hole..............it may be where they will put the submersible pump to help pump out any ground water that may collect from rain or a high water table. Very common and good to have. You do need to make sure to know where the water will be moved to so you can make sure to keep the end clean and unblocked.

Weather held in Chicagoland today. Frame for concrete pour is on and once city inspects bonding we are ready. Hopefully it’s poured next week, and then landscapers can install soldier course.
