I thought I had zeroed in on a robot (the Maytronics Dolphin Triton Plus), but found a few comments about it not getting in curved areas well. It is at the very top end of our price range, so I don't want to get something just to have it work "ok".

Our pool is jellybean shaped with rounded steps in the shallow end and embedded ladder in the deep end. Looking for recommendations on something that will get the steps, if possible, as well as the waterline.

Nothing will do steps effectively. Best to give them a quick brush before starting the robot's cycle (about 15 seconds of effort). I have a kidney-shaped pool and am now on my 2nd robot. 1st was a very old Dolphin that cleaned well, but it had an old-school filter bag - the worst. I picked up an S300 four seasons ago. It's my single best purchase ever for the pool. Oh, neither robot had any problems with "curved areas," they work like a charm.

That is encouraging and helpful, thank you!
