It seems my T15 may have died. Of course it happened while I was out of town, so I am doing the SLAM now.

See the picture below. Does the rust coloring mean something? I looked in it and it was clean, but reads 0 on the screen for salt. When I turn it on the other numbers don't move after the click. Inspect Cell and Check Minerals lights comes on.

Thoughts? Thanks!

Hard to tell as maybe this is internal corrosion. Have you kept up with balancing your water? Do you also clean the cell, if necessary? I have only had my cell for a year and I try to keep my PH on the lower range to prevent scale on the cells. Only time will tell. Also, how long have you had it? Maybe someone else will chime in with a little more experience.

The cell was made Monday, Feb. 02 2015. So, I would suspect that the install date was probably within the 3 year warranty if the cell is bad. What was the purchase and install date?

I suspect that the discoloration is from mold where the cell stayed wet, especially if the part was at the bottom.

The part with the serial number snaps on and off if you want to check under it for damage.

What are the diagnostic readings?

I have been looking for the proof of purchase with no luck. I can't even recall where I bought it

Here are the current readouts. They are the same whether it is powered on or off. It does click after a few seconds when turned on, but none of the numbers change.

I found where it was purchased on 5/18/18, so the warranty has expired by almost 2 months.

Move the switch to off, turn the dial to 100%, move the switch back to auto, then go to instant salinity and watch what that shows.

Are there any error lights?

Make sure that the plug is secure. Unplug, check for damage and reinstall plug.

I ensured it was switched to "off" and then set the output to 100%. I then switch it to "auto" and changed the display to instant salinity. After a few seconds it clicked, but it remained -0. After about 45 seconds it clicked again and the Check Minerals and Inspect Cell lights lit up continuously. I also removed the faceplate in the box and inspected the board. No burnt spots or areas of concern. It was replaced about two years ago. Removed and reconnected the cell plug as well.

I think that it's either the board or the cell. If it was the board, you would usually have a burn mark on the back.

Can you post a picture of the back of the board?

It might be a bad cell, but cells usually drift lower vs. just failing completely.

The part with the serial number is a snap on cap. Pop that off by slipping a flat screwdriver under the bottom edge and prying up to get past the clips.

Have you verified the actual salinity?

Has the cell been working recently?
