We just took delivery of a new 24' above ground pool kit today!

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Bali-24...e-Ground-Pool-Royal-Package-SPAGP04/305816239

This kit came with a solar heat system and says it can be mounted on the roof. We already leveled a spot for the pool that is about 35-40 feet away from our one story barn.

For reference, here is what is included in our kit:

SmartClear 19 in. Sand Filter with a 1.5HP Pump
4 ft. x 20 ft. (80 sq. ft.) Solar Pool Heating system model S421P
SK43 Mounting Kit, 2 SK34 High Wind Kits
SK35 Diverter Valve Kit

Will the 1.5 HP sand filter pump be able to push water over and up to the panels if we put them on the barn roof?

Thank you in advance!

Thank you for the link!

I see it says "A one HP pump willhandle installations up to 30 feet away from the pool equipment and one story up".

I think we are closer to 40 ft + height to the roof (maybe 12 more feet?). 40ft is going from about where the pump will be to the edge of the barn. The roof is southern facing and not covered by trees, so the hope is we would gain some yard space by putting it up there.

Do you see it working ok at that distance or do you think we are setting ourselves up for problems?

Any tips for setting this up for success or pitfalls we should watch out for?

I am not going to speculate as I have not experimented enough to know any better. Search around in this forum for solar panels and you will find a lot of information, see if you can get in touch with pooldv, he is pretty knowledgeable of the subject.
