Another Intex unit with low salt reading

I put in about 120 pounds (in 40 lbs increments per day) after getting the low salt warning. This was before I had my water checked. I need to order a salinity gauge but had it tested at Leslie‘s.

Salt: 3700

FC: 7
TC: 7
CH: 50
CYA: 60 (store reading, I say 70)
TA: 60
PH: 7.4
Phospates: 300 ( I never check this, and didn’t ask them to)

So last week I cleaned the one year old by soaking vinegar for maybe 30 minutes.

No noticeable effect. Should be able to call intex and replace this, they already replaced this because precious unit had GFCi issues (wouldn’t reset).

Any suggestions on remedy before I call them again? There is no buildup on the salt cells- but I’ve read some people soak them in vinegar overnight?

Thanks for your help

The plates seem to last one year for me, but I have weird water. If it is under waranty, make them replace at least the plate (the new model seems to be even worse and the error is "high salt" LOL) I got a new plate last year under waranty, this year I just bought it. Make sure it is the right part number, there are two that look almost identical but they aren't and postage is silly high!

That’s kinda pricey isn’t it? Probably 100 bucks it looks like by the time you by the parts plus shipping?

80 includes shipping. You don't need the small copper plate. Just the longer titanium one. It was cheaper than the whole new model. They are getting bad reviews, maybe in the fall when the returned units get dumped back on the market we can pick them up cheap just for the plates.

I have a thread somewhere here looking for advice on a SWG in the mid-price range between these toys and a real one (they start around 500) - there isn't much out there. A couple of things you hang over the side of the pool.
