Small Pool Build - Brisbane, Australia [emoji1037]

That is all starting to add up as to why you are having the problems! Gurrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Just think of the poor people who do not know about TFP :(

Thank you SO much to Costa and Needs!!! :super: to the MAX!!!

Kim:kim:

I can’t thank them enough. I honestly felt like I was going crazy after over a month of this. I just hope I don’t have a problem getting it sorted. I really don’t want to hear that it’s fine. I pity those who don’t have the wonderful people here at TFP to help. I would be in a corner rocking if it wasn’t for all the help I’ve received.

Our PB told me about a crew he uses occasionally. Apparently it's the only crew in Sydney that will do it, but they hand-dig pools and everything goes out in a barrow or even buckets if need be. Lucky for them a lot of our rock is sandstone, because he said they get very cranky when they hit bluestone! Heaps exxy :)

Found it! I also found that the hole for the clear tubing should be a tight fit. It flaps around like nothing as the hole is way bigger than the tube. Will be asking that that is replaced too. Omg.

The tube that connects to the acid injection port is a bit floppy on mine as well.

It is because the entry point is quite large as compared to the tubing.

It is not an issue as the tubing is compressed via a small silicon compression gland/washer when the large threaded black plastic outer nut is screwed into the port. This compresses the internal silicon washer which ends up clamping the tube.

If you pull on the hose lightly it should not pull out.

As long as it is secure and no water is leaking from the entry point then you should be good.

Our excavation crew do hand digs. Their job after ours was through a man hole door and bucketing out [emoji15]

No one wants to hit bluestone! That would probably have been the end of our pool. Five days of hammer attachment for the shale was more than enough $$$ for our tiny pool. We did go over by about half a day but pb estimate was very close compared to others companies who said the dig would take 1-2 days. One even said 5 hours [emoji23] Would not have been happy with that variation.

The entry to the chlorinator is secure and as you describe. It’s the entry to the big acid container that is very loose. The hole is way bigger than the tubing. The manual says it should be a tight fit with a little ventilation hole. We don’t have a ventilation hole on current container as I guess there is plenty of space to vent around the tube. It might be fine but I’m at the point right now that they can fix everything that is not by the book. I need this resolved.

Ahh ok...forgot about the other end...lol.

Lol

Spoken with pb. Apparently they always place the probes in that location and never have a problem. He agrees that the ph probe probably needs to be replaced and someone will come out Thursday or Friday (of course I’ll be at work). Didn’t mention the container yet. I might just do that myself. Really just want my ph probe sorted right now. Will see how that goes.

Renderer turned up out of the blue. He started grinding before I had a chance to move my new outdoor setting [emoji31] Oh well I will deal with the concrete dust later.

very happy to hear you're finally on the right track. You deserve it. I really hope it's over soon but the knowledge you've gained overcoming these issues will serve you well! Power washing is easy compared to what you've gone through!

I've mentioned to my wife about your pool and your comments. It was one of those moments we're taking for granted these days but it's amazing, talking to someone on other side of the earth about our respective pools! This is my sad little pep talk - keep it up you're almost there and I'm still learning so thank you.

Thanks [emoji4] Your moral support means a lot. I know you had your frustrations too but your build was a pleasure to follow. I do feel like I am more familiar with things than I would otherwise be had we not had these problems. We will be well and truly set come summer hopefully. I hope you’re enjoying your pool [emoji474]*??

Renderers have finished and what a difference. I don’t have a specific before photo but the exposed concrete from the pour was terrible to look at. There was also quite a bit of overpour too that they had to grind away. Looks much neater now. I just asked for plain render as the contractor who I have lined up to do the concrete resurfacing will also go over the render.

All good news! But again it is communication, or lack of, that is getting in the way of a purrfect experience. That seems to be a thing with stuff like this. I am just glad they are showing up at all though!

My hubby knows most of the names from this group of builds! He has even asked about this one and that one a time to two!

Kim:kim:

The rendering buffs it up really nice! :)

If it was me, I'd move the sensor. You could hire a poolie to do it for maybe $150, maybe $100. There's a lot of stuff tumbling past before the filter, and next to nothing after the filter.

Absolutely Kim! They do show up although sometimes I wish it was a little quicker. Having said that if I have something that pb can fix or do himself he is there usually there that day or the next. He is organising for someone else to come (not original plumber thank goodness) so I guess this is why it can’t happen immediately.

That’s so funny your hubby is up on some of the stories here. I have kept my hubby in the loop about some builds too.

The render really does make such a difference. I don’t feel like it’s still a building site now with all the overpour on display. I am also happy that they did this as I’ve noticed many pbs don’t and it wasn’t in our contract. The grinding work was something we wouldn’t have been able to do nearly as well ourselves. They were such lovely guys too.

I really hope that they do the right thing and move the probe. I won’t be here though unfortunately. We would like it moved one way or another and if we have to pay, it’s no big deal. What sort of poolie would do it? Like a pool company like PoolWerx or a pool plumber? Not really sure who’d I should be looking for exactly and where.

Stupid question but what is buffer? My friend was telling me tonight that she had her water tested and had to add 3kg of buffer (pool is smaller than mine). I had to sound like I knew what she was talking about since she knows I’m taking care of my own pool but honestly had no idea [emoji23] I just said oh right [emoji6]
