New Build in West Houston Area - PB

Oh - the pit... yeah - we are putting a pavilion over it this weekend and then a rubber floor in it. Once that cures, we have 2 outdoor sofas and end tables that will go into it and eventually a center fire table in the middle. Gives a place for folks to sit and watch kids in the shade - right next to the pool.

Awesome idea. Sounds like a great place to relax and read a book while consuming an adult beverage

Something like this is the idea...

And the pool water looks like it's perfect now. How's water chemistry balancing coming along?

Seems to be going ok. TA creeps up over time to about 120 so I add acid to try to get it down to 100 and then run the water falls to bring the PH back up from the acid. Chlorine consumption seems to be around 3 gpd to keep 4-5 ppm. I was going to test the CYA for the first time tonight (a week after we added it) to see if we achieved the goal 40 ppm or not.

Quick question for the collective... when I hook up the acid and chlorine feeders, would it be a more efficient use of chlorine to have it primarily dispense the ~3 gallons during the night time hours, or evenly dispense it throughout the day?
(Just thinking about how much of it would get cooked off by the sun...)

Any precautions to avoid simultaneous addition of acid and bleach? Not sure if this is a valid concern at slow additions speeds or not. Just a curiosity for you and/or the experts.

I suspect it wouldn't be an issue - a trickle into a 60gpm stream of both... if it would be an issue, I could have acid dump through the back wall system and chlorine through the front wall system. I'm curious what the experts think on this as well...
