Plan of action for very low CH in SWG pool

I am awaiting a refill of CYA reagent from Taylor for my K2006. Meanwhile, these are my levels today after I added 34oz of Muriatic acid and 1 gallon of bleach yesterday.

FC - 2ppm
CC - 0
PH - >8 (tables indicate I need to add 1.72 qts now)
TA - 90ppm (I am guessing I can leave this alone for now)
CH - 90ppm

Pool Math indicates that I need to add about 880oz for ~25k gallon pool. this would bring up the value to 340ppm, which is the suggested level.

That's a lot of CaCl. Should I just get a 45lb container and mix it up with water and drop once or over a day or two?

The swg dropped its salt ppm from 2900 to 2700 today inspite of running it for more than 12 hrs at 70%. Shall I just keep it running 24x7 at 100% until this is resolved?

Regards

Your FC is way too low for your CYA, The absolute minimum it should be is 5ppm, with a daily target of 7ppm. Use liquid chlorine, aka bleach, to bring up the FC. What size is your SWG cell?

I would only add half of the CaCl, then test again to see where you are before adding the rest.

The amount of time you run the SWG, or %, has no effect on your salt levels. Add salt to raise the level recommended by your SWG manufacturer.

If your SWG is running 12 hours at 70%, and you only have 2FC, then it sounds like something needs to be cleaned out.

What are you using to lower pH. If it is the normal muriatic acid 20* baum, I would not add that much acid to lower pH all at once. Throw in 1-2 cups and check it after a while (or the next day). Check your math, because I don't see how you could need more than 2-4 cups at most.

As to the original question, add CH in stages over 3 days. I would not mix it in a bucket first. Just add around the pool. Do 1/3 each day for that amount of CH.

Have you been adding water? With the numbers where they are, it sounds like you might have a leak.

The SWG is AQR15 and not AQR9. So, it should be good for the ~25k pool.

I did not have to add water till now. Touch wood. No leaks.

A short while ago before I saw the last message:
I have added 25lbs of CH on the deep end gradually and mixed after each container.
1 gallon of bleach to keep the FC around.
1 40lb bag of salt to help bring up the levels to higher. Hayward suggested 88lbs but I was conservative to make sure I dont jack it up.

I will check the water levels (minus the CYA) this evening and see where it is at. The pool has tons of sunlight during the day and with the CH levels being that low, it could be contributing to this scenario?

BTW, the pool was drained and refilled about a month ago when we did the conversion to SWG and replaced the water line tiles. No acid wash was done since the plaster was not that strong being an old pool. I am holding off for a resurfacing next year either with Pebbletec or better yet AB.

Any other gotchas I need to watch out for?

Thanks
