Official 2017 BBQ, Smoking, Grilling, Baking and Beer thread

Re: Official 2017 BBQ, Smoking, Grilling, Baking and Beer thread

The Sam Adams came from their Summer Variety Pack. Having spent some time in Boston (no, not in the local jail...), I'm a huge Sam Adams fan. I really like this years summer summer seasonal variety pack as all the beers are light and crisp, wheat beers, ales and lagers with some great flavors (nothing too fruity). Just fun, easy drinking summer lounging beer. Definitely recommend you try a pack out. The Tropic of Yuzu is a citrus wheat beer but SA used Asian Yuzu fruit (like an orange) instead of the standard lemon or mandarin orange.

The Leinenkugel (Wisconsin local brew) Summer Shandy is one my favorite pool side and BBQ beers. It's basically a mix between wheat beer and hard lemonade without much sugar sweetness. Very easy to drink even in the hot sun. Leinenkugel makes a few other types of shandy's too (grapefruit and orange) but I like the Summer Shandy best. Definitely worth having a six pack or two around for summer parties.

Ill try some. About as strong as I like is pils, but I like the wheat and citrus beers as long as they aren't too sweet or fruity. Save that for the occasional Pina Colada. Mostly, my beer taste is dull. Crisp, light, mild Lagers...but hey, it's way better than some I know.

PS- A nice hefeweizen is good too.

One of my favorite wheat beer brewers is Blue Moon beer. Unfortunately their latest seasonal pack had a mango wheat beer in it that just tasted way too fruity for me. I normally stay away from a lot of the fruity beers especially the fall varieties like pumpkin ales or cherry wheats, etc., because I find I really don't like the mixed flavors.

Wheat beers and most IPAs are fine by me. My one and only one rule -

NO HEINEKEN !!

Skunk beer, yuck!!

Re: Official 2017 BBQ, Smoking, Grilling, Baking and Beer thread

Ok...Heineken, or Coors Light?

Love wheat beers. Blue moon is good, and Shock Top aint bad once a summer. The best Blue Moon ever, I thought was Winter Abbey Ale. They changed it, but its still pretty good.

You guys need to grow up! None of that :taped: please!!! You need to come over to the dark side! Guinness, shiner bock, Victoria, Indio, maybe a few reds but that's about it!!!

No way Tivo, I like refreshing Beers, and those are not to me. Guinness American Blonde
is pretty nice though...in fact, I think I will get some today later on! Good idea!

I'd be a raging alcoholic if I worked there and Sam Adams would go Chapter 11 from massive profit loss.

Guinness = Winter beer only with corned beef

Shiner Bock = "Bud Light Dark Roast"

Victoria & Indio are ok beers.

Guinness AB is a very good choice...I also picked up some Victoria Summer Love and I keep some Michelob Ultra for those that like something just above water. Now if I could get the rain to stop so we can get back on track for this build....
