I have a Whisperflo pump that needs to have the flange replaced as it (and the seal plate) is damaged. Based on a Pentair exploded parts diagram, I ordered part SAW-49, which is also known as 601400. However, this is apparently not the right part. While the dimensions where it meets the flange are the same and it shares many other characteristics, it is not nearly as "deep" as the piece on the pump now. Does anyone know the correct part?
Now that I have the pump disassembled, I have 2 other questions:
1. How do I remove the flange from the seal? Is it just a matter of pulling hard, or is there a "trick"?
2. There is a screw toward the middle of the flange. I removed that before removing the flange, thinking I needed to do so. It seems to hold in an oddly-shaped metal piece, but I am not sure how to reattach it, or what its purpose is. Can anyone provide info how to reinstall it?
